The fruit of the selection of an exceptional plot, this wine gives off generous candied fruit aromas mixed with delicate notes that bring the greatest Burgundian Pinot Noirs to mind. A thoroughbred, harmonious cuvée that combines wealth, elegance and great distinction.

Terroir: Briante is one of the appellation’s 16 exceptional lieux-dits or named vineyards. It is on the commune of Saint Lager, at the foot of famous Mont Brouilly. The climate is semi-continental and enjoys both oceanic and Mediterranean influences.

Soil: ancient alluvium with few stones

Harvest: Hand-picked to keep the bunches whole for vinification

Vinification: traditional, fully de-stemmed, with vatting lasting an average of 20 to 30 days. Only the first press juice is used to craft this exceptional cuvée.

Maturing: in oak barrels for 15 months

Certification: HVE3, the highest French governmental environmental certification

Robe: intense ruby, equal to the powerful ripe ref fruit aromas with notes of chocolate

Nose: candied red fruit mixed with liquorice and coffee

Palate: well-built and harmonious, fleshy, mouth-watering, filled with dark fleshed fruit with notes of vanilla, coffee and chicory root

Serving suggestions: the perfect partner to dishes in sauce, deli meats and turkey with chestnut stuffing

Serving temperature: 12 – 13°C/53-56°F

Cellaring: 10 years or more

Estate: We have been vinegrower-winemakers for 5 generations on the commune of Saint-Lager at the foot of famous Mont Brouilly, topped with its iconic chapel. We also craft; Brouilly, Côte de Brouilly, Chiroubles, Fleurie, Morgon, Moulin à Vent and Régnié, not forgetting Beaujolais Villages as well as white, rosé and sparkling wines. Our estate gained the ultimate accolade in 2016 when our Chiroubles 2015 was awarded Best Gamay in the World (Meilleur Gamay du Monde).
