Côte de Brouilly "Le Pavé"
Strict vineyard selection where the terroir is made up of remarkable blue granite is behind the grapes for this singular, refined wine. Red peppercorn notes combined with a touch of Espelette pepper tickle the palate and give extra length to the elegant and vibrant finish.

Terroir: on the peak of Mont Brouilly, at 484 metres above sea-level, is a Chapel to Our Lady of the Grapes, A.K.A. La Madonne. The land is mainly made up of deep, altered blue stone and granite.
Harvest: Hand-picked to keep the bunches whole for vinification
Vinification: traditional, fully de-stemmed, with vatting lasting an average of 20 days. The first press juice is used to craft this exceptional cuvée.
Maturing: in oak barrels for 12 to 15 months
Certification: HVE3, the highest French governmental environmental certification
Robe: Lovely intense garnet red hue
Nose: the aromas are a combination of fruit (bilberry, plum) and spice (green peppercorn, chicory root and Espalette pepper)
Palate: a fruity, spicy mouthfeel, great structure, refined tannins and a spicy finish
Serving suggestions: absolutely delicious, with bœuf bourguignon, Flemish stew or a good cut of roast game
Serving temperature: 12 – 13°C/53-56°F
Cellaring: 10 years or more
Estate: We have been vinegrower-winemakers for 5 generations on the commune of Saint-Lager at the foot of famous Mont Brouilly, topped with its iconic chapel. We also craft; Brouilly, Côte de Brouilly, Chiroubles, Fleurie, Morgon, Moulin à Vent and Régnié, not forgetting Beaujolais Villages as well as white, rosé and sparkling wines. Our estate gained the ultimate accolade in 2016 when our Chiroubles 2015 was awarded Best Gamay in the World (Meilleur Gamay du Monde).
