Terroir: the vines are planted on southeast facing slopes that are an average of 350 metres above sea-level. The wine from this appellation is mineral rich, very flavourful and early ripening. The soil is made up of ancient alluvium.

Harvest: Hand-picked to keep the bunches whole for vinification

Vinification: remains traditional with vatting lasting an average of 12 days.

Maturing: in stainless steel vats

Certification: HVE3, the highest French governmental environmental certification

Robe: a lovely glowing shiny cherry red to deep ruby robe

Nose: small black and red berry fruit including raspberry, red currant, sloe, blackberry and blackcurrant, with sweet spice and mineral notes

Palate: after a fresh attack, the mouthfeel is fleshy, rounded, flavourful and structured, with lovely length. This balanced wine is ready to enjoy

Serving suggestions: with white or red meat, game or a dish in sauce. Also a great partner to deli meats and cheese. Why not serve it as an aperitif or at a picnic?

Estate: We have been vinegrower-winemakers for 5 generations on the commune of Saint-Lager at the foot of famous Mont Brouilly, topped with its iconic chapel. We also craft; Brouilly, Côte de Brouilly, Chiroubles, Fleurie, Morgon, Moulin à Vent and Régnié, not forgetting Beaujolais Villages as well as white, rosé and sparkling wines. Our estate gained the ultimate accolade in 2016 when our Chiroubles 2015 was awarded Best Gamay in the World (Meilleur Gamay du Monde). We care for the environment and craft organic red and white wine (PURE collection).
